Hearing Aids

The time it takes to get used to a hearing aid varies from person to person.

Here are some helpful tips to make the transition a little easier.

Take time to familiarise yourself with your hearing aid and how the controls work.

Allow time to get used to the sound of your hearing aid.

You may not have heard some sounds for a while and they may appear strange at first.

Practice placing it in and out of your ear.

Gradually increase the use of your hearing aid over time.

Start off by wearing it for half an hour a day, gradually increase this to a whole day after afew weeks.

Until you have got used to your hearing aid it is best to avoid noisy environments.

Using your hearing aid may be difficult at first but within a few weeks it should become second nature.
